Mission Dei — Our Vision

Missio Dei is Latin for "the mission of God" — the conviction that God is a sending God, and that His people are called to go.

Mission Dei is a men's ministry that walks alongside first responders and veterans with the truth of God's Word. We teach, disciple, and build a brotherhood of men who bear one another's burdens (Galatians 6:2). We are not a mental health service. We point men to Christ.

Hope for the Bruised.

Understanding the Culture

The Weight They Carry Alone

Men of service are trained to run toward danger — not to ask for help. That culture of strength is an asset on the job. But it can become a barrier to healing.

The brotherhood that makes men of service effective — the stoicism, the self-reliance, the "I've got it" mentality — can also keep a man from reaching out until he is in full crisis. Mission Dei exists to reach men before that moment. You do not have to wait until you are broken to find help. There is a better way.

"You do not have to wait until you are in a crisis to find help."

Moral Injury & PTSD

There Is a Name for What You Are Carrying

Many men of service carry wounds that have no visible scar. The clinical world calls them Moral Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. We believe Scripture has something to say about both — and that there is genuine hope.

Moral Injury

Moral injury occurs when a person witnesses, participates in, or fails to prevent events that violate their deeply held moral beliefs. For men of service, this can mean the call that went wrong, the life that could not be saved, or the order that felt unconscionable. It is not weakness — it is the mark of a conscience that still works.

PTSD

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is a recognized clinical condition that can develop after exposure to traumatic events. Symptoms include intrusive memories, hypervigilance, emotional numbness, and disrupted sleep. It is not a character flaw. It is a wound — and wounds can heal.

There Is Hope

The same God who met Elijah under the broom tree when he was exhausted and wanted to die (1 Kings 19) meets men today in their darkest moments. God does not minimize suffering—He anchors hope in a sovereign Lord who redeems it. You are not beyond reach. Your story is not over.

1 Kings 19:4–8 — Elijah sat under a broom tree and asked to die. An angel touched him twice, gave him food and water, and said: "Arise and eat, for the journey is too great for you." God met him in exhaustion before He gave him a mission.

For Pastors & Church Leaders

Host a Conference at Your Church

Mission Dei teaches in local churches. If you are a pastor or church leader with first responders in your congregation or community, we would like to serve your church. We want every man we serve to be plugged into a body of believers where the Word is preached, where he is known, and where he is held accountable. Our goal is to strengthen the church, not to compete with it.

Serve With Us

"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve." — Mark 10:45

Mission Dei is made up of men who want to serve faithfully. If the Lord has put it on your heart to walk with first responders and veterans, we would like to hear from you. Because we care for men who are hurting, we take our time. Every man who serves with us is known by his church and tested before he serves. This form is an expression of interest. It is not an application, and it does not promise a place on our team.
